Telehealth and Remote Patient Monitoring

There are many ways that technology can assist and improve care at home.  Many of these are now rapidly advancing.  Finding which technological aid is best suited for you, and indeed, when and how to use them, can be tricky.  Fortunately, combing the practitioner network of Atticus Health with Mark & Sylvie’s Home care means that you get expert medical advice about how to best use technology and help with setting it up.

Telehealth

One powerful way technology is helping people at home these days is via telehealth.

This service allows you to have a consultation with your doctor or other medical specialist via the telephone or video.  As a service that combines home and health care, Mark & Sylvie’s Home Care is able to facilitate telehealth in an efficient and timely manner.

Essentially, all our home care staff are encouraged and empowered to consider any unmet medical needs of clients.  If they notice anything of this nature that needs attention, with your consent, they promptly report this to your care manager, who can organise a telehealth consultation with your GP, the next time that carer is at your home.  Or, that a face to face appointment with your GP is booked, and we help you organise the transport.  This way, you know that you are being well looked after, and that any medical needs are being adequately identified and met.

We consider our ability to get medical matters attended to promptly and in-house in a professional way a distinct advantage of our service.

Remote Patient Monitoring

Technology can also come in the form of devices that measure various biometric parametres.  Or, it can come in the form of sensors that help you live more safely at home.  These devices collectively can be considered to be forms of remote patient monitoring and the usefulness of these devices will continue to grow.  We are happy to engage with you and provide advice about remote patient monitoring.

Our services in the area include:

All of these such devices build up a profile of what is “normal” for a person.  Variances to this “normal”, monitored remotely by our service, can be a useful early indicator that something might be wrong.
